Styling Classic Fashion Trends For Summer 2017

As summer approaches and the temperatures start to heat up, so does the fashion trends. This season is marked by a lot of unique and innovative styles prancing down the runway but right behind those new and trendy pieces are the classic styles! So how exactly do you wear a classic style while still looking hip and modern? Here is a list of classic styles along with tips on how to wear them, 2017 style!

Stripes

Stripes is a classic wardrobe staple and judging from the summer 2017 fashion trends this won’t be changing anytime soon. This year when it comes to stripes, thin is in! While horizontal stripes are making occasional appearances, it seems that vertical stripes are stealing the show as they are seen much more commonly, especially on bottoms!

This is great because vertical stripes not only make you look leaner but they also make you look taller! For a bold and chic summer look rock some vertically striped pants paired with a solid colored top.

Florals

Florals are another classic print that makes an appearance in stores each year and we still can’t get enough of them! This summer the flower prints are way smaller and instead of seeing the bold colors typical of summer pieces, this time around the colors are paler, giving the prints a more vintage, and delicate feminine look and feel.

Nude colors

Who said a nude color palette couldn’t work in the summer? Though they still have maintained some of those bright and vibrant colors of the summer season, designers have not shied away from conveying a more earthy side of summer, with more neutral colors like Kale Green (an Army shade) Hazelnut (neutral beige) Pale Dogwood Pink (a soft, delicate pink) Island Paradise Aqua (a pale blue-green), Cognac Brown (A brownish red; burgundy). These colors tell a story of the relaxation that comes with summer and the free time to get in touch with nature while taking a trip to a scenic and earthy paradise. To add a 2017 summer flavor to these classic colors that are usually seen in fall and winter, try finding these colors in cooler pieces such as shorts, skirts, dresses, and tanks. Pairing them with florals or other brighter colors can also add a trendy flare to these classic colors.
Of course it’s great to take note of these trends but remember to remain unique because we were all fearfully and wonderfully made from the start.  Following fashion trends are great and everything but never lose sight of maintaining your own style. Be yourself and don’t ever let others change you, because only you know you.
