Purple Cow: How to Stand Out
Image going on a road trip with your friends and while driving by, you see a farm with all sorts of animals. What would you do? Most likely you are going to continue driving. As you continue to drive to your destination you see a purple cow. How would you react? Most people would get out of the car to take a picture. The main difference between the black and white cow versus the purple cow is that the purple cow was designed to stand out. The same thing applies to you as a Christians. You were created to stand out, not to look like the world but as a representation of Christ in this world.
God has placed everyone on a different path on this journey of life. Whether you are at school, work, or home, constantly ask yourself, ‘Am I being a light?’ When you constantly ask yourself that question you will see the way you walk and talk start to change, because you know that you are a representation of God. Below are a few tips on how to stand out like a “Purple Cow” in your day to day life.
As a woman of God, you cannot be a light in your day to day life if you are not deeply rooted in God’s word (Colossians 2:7). God instructs us to be praying continuously and to read his word day and night. When we pray and spend time with our father we are continuously building a bond with our father. For example, people say you are who you hang around. If God is the main person in your life, people are going to be able to tell. There is something different about you once you choose to seek God. When we are constantly speaking to God, Reading his word, and applying it to our lives we will inevitably begin to act like him.
Set your mind on things up abovedl
As women of God, we know that this earth is only temporary and it is not our home forever. We have to constantly remember that we were placed on this earth for a purpose so we need to live out our purpose daily. Each day alive is a new opportunity to set our minds on the things that are above and not this world (Colossians 3:2). In order to be a light in our daily life, we need to focus on God and what he wants for our lives daily.
We’re called to be different in our daily walk. Whether we realize it or not, people are watching the things that you do and say because you are a billboard for Christ. Therefore, remember to always be rooted in God’s word and to set your mind on the things above.
