    The Need For A Father

According to the Hebrew Word Picture Language the word Father means, “strength or leader of the house.” Anger means “where is the father?”, and Love means, “The father revealed.” With one of these definitions you see what a father does, with the other you see what happens when there is no father, and with the last, you see why the need for a father is so paramount to an individual.
For some, Father’s Day can be a dreadful reminder of their absent, or less-than- perfect, father.. From these Hebrew meanings and scripture in the bible, we see how serious God takes being fathered and why we were all created to be fathered. God wants a family and within every family is a father. He loves to bring our hearts back to looking to a father and most of all back to himself. Malachi 4:6 says, “And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.” We also see something similar in Luke 1:17,” and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.”

God is our heavenly father, but yet we still need a father figure to guide us in our lives in order for us to really be healed. If you don’t have your own biological father to guide you, don’t be discouraged. Any male figure who you look up to can be a father to you. For example, when God made Abram into Abraham he said, “This is my covenant with you: I will make you the father of a multitude of nations!” God made Abraham into a father essentially to lead and guide people. Although God is our father in heaven, even he saw the need for humans to have a father figure on earth to look up to.
If you have a pastor or someone with godly principles who you can trust, I would suggest making a relationship with that person. Spiritual fathers are so important to our lives and our walks with Christ. If you don’t know of anyone, start to believe God for a father figure to enter your life. Someone who can lead you, impart into you, be consistent, and love you. No matter how much we think we can do this life on our own or without the guidance of others, we just can’t. In the bible, we see the relationship Timothy had with Paul as his spiritual father and how it helped him grow into his own identity. We also see Elijah and Elisha, and many more.
Proverbs 11:14 says, “For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.” Don’t let the enemy destroy your view of male figures because of your past. He does this because he knows how powerful it can be when someone is aligned with a healthy male figure in their lives. As the Hebrew meaning of father states above, we need to be fathered by someone who can be our strength and lead us. We need someone to step into the spot where maybe there was an absent father, and we need someone who will show us love and reveal God’s love to us.
I believe when we embrace a father’s love here on this earth, we will begin to have more of an understanding of God’s love. When we understand God’s love and our place as his child, we begin to walk in our full inheritance. “And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,” leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!” For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!” And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has.” Romans 8:15-17 TPT
The number one thing to take away is that You are God’s child first and foremost. Believe that in your heart, mind, and soul. Regardless of who was absent in your life, or who walked away from the relationship with you, God is your ultimate caregiver who will never leave you. Secondly, recognize the importance of having a relationship with a male adviser, pastor, or leader who can help you in this thing called life. Ask God to bring one to you and reveal who that person may be. The relationship paired together with the Holy Spirit will cause you to grow, be healed, and become all who God has created you to be.

1 Hour Morning Routine: Pray Then Slay

We all have days where we are pressed for time and end up running out of the house without acknowledging God and barely looking remotely put together. We often wonder how we can possibly fit in a decent amount of time with God and manage to look presentable all before leaving the house in the morning. Here is an hour routine that will show you that you don’t need a lot of time to get things done!

    Pray:

Put a timer on for each part for 10 minutes so you can focus and not worry about passing the time. If you’re really pressed for time do each part for 5 minutes. There’s no time that is too short to spend with God.

    1. 10 minutes of Prayer
    2. 10 minutes of Worship
    3. 10 minutes of journaling what the Holy Spirit is speaking to you or of reading the word

Your soul will thank you for seeking God first each morning. Whether it be grace, provision, protection, or whatever else, the father will always break off a piece of daily bread for you when you seek him.

    Slay:

A little makeup goes a long way and it doesn’t have to take forever to do! Below are the products I use every morning and in the order I put them on. With some practice, you can master this simple ten-step routine and be ready in less than 20 minutes.

    1. Dampen your beauty blender and dry it in a paper towel. Leave it aside for now.
    2. Prep your face with some primer. I mainly put it on my T-Zone since those are my oily spots, but feel free to apply it to your whole face for smooth application.
    3. Apply the brow gel and do your brows with the brow pencil. To give your brows a sharper look outline them with concealer and blend it out with a flat eyeshadow brush.
    4. After brows, dot some foundation on your face. Enough to get all sections of your face covered with a thin layer.  Blend the foundation out with the damp beauty blender, pouncing the sponge around your face so the product is seeping into the skin instead of being rubbed around on your face.
    5. Next, put on concealer under your eyes and forehead exactly how you see it in the example below. Blend that out with your beauty blender, again pouncing the sponge, pushing the product into your skin.
    6. Still using your beauty blender, apply powder underneath the eyes, forehead, nose, and chin. This will help to smooth out your skin and keep the foundation and concealer in place.
    7. With an angled face brush apply bronzer as shown in the example.
    8. Now get the fluffy face brush and apply some blush on the cheeks.
    9. With the same brush apply some highlight on the upper cheekbones, temples, and bridge of your nose. To give my lids some dimension I usually grab a fluffy eyeshadow brush and sweep some bronzer into the crease.
    10. Lastly, for eyes, add some highlight to your tear ducts, put on some mascara, and blend it all in with your beauty blender!

Tips On Modesty (That Has Little To Do With Clothes)

Every time I hear of the term modesty in the context of Christianity,  it correlates to how we as Christian women should dress. In focusing so much on the outside and “looking holy”,  the necessity for a heart check measuring true holiness and modesty in spirit can often be overlooked. Anyone can dress modestly even without having a true heart for Christ. Further, one can be covered in a turtleneck and a prairie skirt but what does that matter if her behaviors don’t align with her modest wardrobe.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t watch how we dress. Making sure that our outfit is not causing others to be tempted and is accurately representing ourselves as daughters of God is completely sound doctrine. We must however always remember what true modesty is. A heart check is a must in finding out if you are actually modest and not just looking the part.

Check your heart by asking God to reveal it to you. Once He reveals to you the parts that He wants to purify, allow Him to do just that. He wants to clean out those dark, dusty corners that you haven’t allowed anyone else in. One scripture I often meditate on is Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Continuously ask the Lord to produce everything in you that pleases Him.

Another way to make sure you are moving towards modesty in heart and spirit is to read your word daily. The word of God will check you and cause the Holy Spirit to stir up transformation inside of you. Psalm 119:9, “How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word.”

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the word modesty has little to do with your choice of dress but rather it has more to do with your humility, behavior, and not thinking more highly of yourself and your abilities. God wants us to not just look modest but to actually be modest. The outside will always naturally exude what is already flowing on the inside of you. Pay more attention to who Christ wants you to be on the inside than what the Christian community says you must do to look the part on the outside.

You will get closer to the image that God wants you to look like by spending time with Him. The more you spend time with Jesus the more you will be transformed into His image and the more you will have his heart. While you read and pray have a conversation with God. Ask the Holy Spirit questions and expect Him to answer. Through that, He will reveal all those hidden things that you don’t even know are there.

Ephesians 5:8-10 TPT says, “Once your life was full of sin’s darkness, but now you have the very light of our Lord shining through you because of your union with him. Your mission is to live as children flooded with his revelation-light! And the supernatural fruits of his light will be seen in you- goodness, righteousness, and truth. Then you will learn to choose what is beautiful to our Lord.”

With the light of Christ inside of you, you will supernaturally exude attributes of Christ and as you surrender every part of yourself He will teach you what is pleasing to Him; this will also transcend into your wardrobe. Modesty should flow from the inside out, revealing the Christ in you in all aspects of your life!
