    We Are Kingdom Kultured!

    Hey Babe!

As you know, the heart and soul of Christian En Vogue is the scripture, Romans 12:2. This verse reminds us that we are not to conform to the ways and standards of this world. From that same heartbeat, we are so excited to introduce to you our apparel line, Kingdom Kultured.

Just a few moments spent scrolling through social media or watching the news is enough for anyone to recognize just how much our country is experiencing immense disunity.

We are becoming more and more divided based on race, color, beliefs, and political party. In these sensitive times, it’s important for the body of Christ to recognize where our allegiance and identity should truly lie. It should not be based on culture, politics, class or anything else but the fact that we are all Children of God who represent the Kingdom.

    We are Kingdom Citizens.

    We are Kingdom Minded.

    We are Kingdom Kultured.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

    -1 Peter 2:9

The world may try to stick a number of different labels on us based on who and what they think we are, but this verse, a pillar of Kingdom Kultured, tells us exactly who God says we are.

Being Kingdom Kultured means three main things!
    1. You are from Heaven. That is your permanent address while Earth is just a temporary home. You are not a product of this world but you understand that you were just commissioned here on assignment. (John 17:16)
    2. You are a Child of God. You are fathered by the Living God of the Universe. Therefore, you are a joint-heir with Christ. To your advantage, that means that all the royalty and power given to Jesus, is also shared with you. You can do all things and conquer all things. (Galatians 4:7)
    3. You are fluent in love. You cannot exhibit the culture of the Kingdom without love; they go hand in hand. Every deed, every speech, and every thought should be done in a pure love for God, yourself, and your neighbor.  (1 Corinthians 16:14)

If you are proud to be Kingdom Kultured I encourage you to support us as we launch this new apparel line.

  • Distractions on Hearing the Voice of God

Hearing the voice of God is an absolute and necessary gift which every believer needs to have. It is not an elusive gift reserved only for a favored few; it is accessible to every believer. (Romans 8:14) Learning to hear the voice of God can save you from many unwise mistakes and it can help save the lost around you. Further, the voice of God can help lead, propel, convict, encourage, heal, rebuke, restore, affirm, and inspire among many other things.

First, I would like to clarify something about the term ‘hearing God’s voice’. This is just another way for saying being led by the spirit of God. Thought possible, it is very rare for God to speak in a loud and clear audible voice. Often, the voice of God comes as a still, small internal voice or thought. Other times, it is not even a “voice” at all. It can be released through way of visions and dreams or through more discrete ways such as through circumstances, signs, nature, or even people. Don’t put God in a box; he can “speak” in many ways.

With that said, it is God’s perfect will that all his Children would learn to hear his voice, or be led by him. Jesus even stated that his sheep hears his voice. (John 10:27) How then, can we claim to follow Christ if we cannot even hear his voice?

If you are not hearing the voice of God for yourself or you would like to sharpen your ability to do so, evaluate your life and habits. God is always speaking in one way or another (yes, even in the “silent” seasons) but sometimes the connection is bad on our end. Here are three main blockers on hearing the voice of God.

    1. Sin and Iniquity-

The literal translation of sin is “missing the mark”. The mark that this definition refers to is the glory of God. We were all created to live in God’s glory, or his presence, but when we sin, we fall short of that glory. (Romans 3:23).

[Isa 59:2: But your iniquities have separated you from God; Your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear you]

It is one thing to occasionally fall but it is not okay to continue to make sin a habit or a lifestyle. If you know you are living in sin, repent now and make a conscious decision to turn away from whatever is separating you from God. It is very hard to hear the voice of a God whom you are separated from. The good news is that as you repent, through the work of Jesus, every veil separating you from His glory and presence will be torn, allowing you to be in a better space to hear him.

  • Identifying and Styling Your Body Type

Uniquely Designed by the Master Designer

So, you are in your favorite store and they happen to have  the biggest sale of the season! All excited with your fabulous finds you go into the fitting room. You are trying everything on (hopefully like 50 items because did I mention it is the biggest sale of the season?)  Your plan is to leave the store with a whole new wardrobe carefully folded and placed into one of those super cute store gift bags, and strut out with your new purchases as if you are walking down Madison Avenue. As you step into item number one, all of a sudden, you hear a  voice. You hope with excitement it is the store’s speaker announcing an extra discount but instead you hear,

    “Your legs are too fat.”

“Your hips are not curvy enough.”

“ Your bust is too small.”

This voice in your head continues to tell you that you are not enough. Not pretty enough.  Not tall enough. Not popular enough.  There always seems to be something that is not right about your looks and your body.  The media, advertising, music and fashion industries have trained our minds to feed into their “perfect” standard of beauty. What they fail to tell us though is that this standard has been surgically constructed or photoshopped to fit into the money making standards of each one of this industries.

We haven’t been told the truth of how  each of us has been uniquely designed by a Master Designer. Each one of us has been intricately designed, equipped, and chosen for a specific time and purpose. You are the Master Designer’s idea. You are His inspiration!  Our bodies are different, unique and most importantly, designed to carry His will and plan on the earth. You are different because you are not a copy. You are not supposed to look like somebody else. Your unique design is more than your body. It is also your personality, style, gifts, talents, skin color, nationality, etc.  Your body was designed and shaped with intention and love. You are engraved in the palm of His hand. as mentioned in Isaiah 49:16,

So, my dear fashionista, it is time to know and embrace His original plan and design for your life. It is time to become His original idea and inspiration because, after He was finished, God, the Master Designer “saw all that he had made, and it was very good.” (Genesis 1:31)

  • Idol Worship: Unlikely Culprits That May Be Idols In Your Life

It is very unlikely for any true Christian to deliberately engage in idol worship. Yes, we may not be bowing down to a false god, or having ritual ceremonies to offer up sacrifices, but that does not automatically put us in the clear against idol worshipping.

An idol can be anything we put before God in our lives. This means that anything and anyone can become a candidate to be exalted to an idol if we are not careful enough (even the most godliest, innocent things). Here are three unlikely culprits that you may be allowing to take the place of God in your life.

    1. Self- The most sly and dangerous of them all! Putting your desires and the desires of your flesh above what God wants, is a form of self idolatry. Think about it: all sin is rooted in selfishness. When you choose to sin, instead of caring about pleasing God, you are only worried about pleasing yourself. Are you more worthy than God? Are you of greater importance than He? By indulging in sin, you are constantly elevating yourself at a higher importance than God.

Apart from sinning, another way we can allow self to become your idol, is when you become too concerned with our image and reputation.
